The first episode in the series will feature a studio segment filmed by the three amigos yesterday in South Africa. The three lads and The Grand Tour’s social media channels shared a handful of pictures and videos from the scene and, to be utterly frank, I can’t contain my excitement for The Grand Tour to start airing. It’s that good. Even though the studio bits happen inside a large green tent adorned with a Persian carpet, Amazon is reportedly spending £160 million to produce 36 episodes of the much anticipated car show.
Divided 36 times, that works out at around £4.5 million, which is quite a lot more than the BBC spent on Top Gear when Jeremy, Richard, and James were still onboard. Now let’s leave the pictures and videos speak for themselves and focus on the three amigos’ feelings on their first day of studio filming for The Grand Tour. Jeremy: “I loved today.” Richard: “Yup, we started work for real in South Africa this week and it felt incredible. And now here comes the rest of the world.” James, on the other hand, said that he “forgot to wave.”
Nobody actually knows what the three talked about in the green tent, most likely because the audience could be subject to a non-disclosure agreement. Be that as it may, more studio segments are in the offing. The next countries in line for The Grand Tour are the U.S., UK, and Germany.
What other country do you want Jeremy, Richard, and James May to stop by?
