When we first told you guys that The Expendables star will be hitting this year’s Gumball 3000 rally, we were still trying to figure out what was the beast he’ll run the grid with. Luckily, the team his driving along was kind enough to release a last minute clip with Dolph Lundgren holding the wheel of a beautiful Ferrari FF.
The choice brings us not one, but two celebrities in the same show, meaningly the 2015 Gumball 3000 rally.
We all know how the grand tourer is Ferrari’s first production four-wheel drive model, but there's a lot more to it than that. When we drove it two years ago, we found that it’s the result of a game of ambitions. It's a practical Prancing Horse that stands between those who feed with F1 heat and the gentlemen who were asking for a Ferrari they could drive throughout four seasons.
Nothing about this car is conventional, from the design to the fact that is uses not one, but two transmissions. In a way, the Ferrari FF in question is like the actor driving it.
Lundgren looks like a sturdy guy you don’t want to mess with, and that’s because he really is. But it’s not just his martial arts medals that make him stand out since he also is a chemical engineer, a philanthropist and, of course, a great actor.
Getting back to the event in question, which kicks off today in Stockholm and goes through May 30, it’s good to know Lundgren is not going to be sitting in the passenger seat, as we previously suspected.
As we said, the Rocky actor will be joining fellow Swedish extreme skier Jon Olsson as they will both race for the Betsafe team. Both, but in separate cars.
