With SpaceX’s announcement yesterday, things are about to get quite serious in terms of an actual development schedule of the long disputed high-speed transportation system. Elon Musk’s company may be one year away from a first functional prototype, but few to none of those involved has thought about how would the travel experience be like.
As we told you folks the other day, SpaceX will be making sure that other companies find the best way to create a functional prototype of the conceptual high-speed transportation system put forward by Elon Musk in 2013. There’s going to be a competition backed up by the aerospace manufacturer and in the end one company will start building a half-sized Hyperloop.

They claim we’re about a year away from seeing a first trip happening, but these things are hard to plan. Either way, nobody has talked about the travel experience itself. How will the passengers travel? What’s the station going to look like? Will there be premium seats and economy spots like in regular airlines? These and some other questions came to the interest of Argo Design, who recently decided to create a concept of what the transportation of the future would look like.

According to the company, Argo’s Hyperloop concept is the result of ideation and design sketched by the firm’s designers and reflects a possible layout direction for the transportation system. Some theoretical considerations were taken into account such as a smaller speed limit than the maximum 700 mph that would allow several hours of travel on one trip.

In their vision, Elon Musk’s high-speed transportation system contains four removable capsules for carrying passengers, vehicles and cargo. When engaged, these are fastened to the Hyperloop Sled, a single continuous vehicle chassis that also contains the front-facing intake air compressor. Further details can be found on the company’s website, but we have to say the sketches are worth mentioning.
