Here’s How Lexus Made a One-Of-A-Kind RC F Reflect the Driver’s Heart Beat

Sharing the driver’s feelings with the passers-by is quite hard to do, considering that the person holding the steering wheel is regularly busy doing the right thing. Even pros prefer keeping their eyes on the road only. But what if the exterior of the car could directly translate the driver’s heart patterns into a striking visual display across the bodywork?

We’re traveling to Australia today, and it’s not to visit Nicole Kidman at her beautiful farmhouse, but for the sake of ultimate auto tuning. We had already mentioned about the unique car the other day, but new details have now emerged. Clearly, you need some proper imagination and a bit of talent to pull out such a stunt, so we figured you guys want to know what these people did.

The one-off RC F high-performance coupe is the result of a collaboration between Lexus Australia and the creative agency M&C Saatchi.

According to the Japanese automaker, different technologies have been integrated into the car to monitor the driver’s heartbeat and use the data captured to send an electric charge through the bodywork. Moreover, the body panels are finished in an electro-luminescent paint, produced by the US specialist Luminor, which reacts to the command with an intense glow, pulsing the same rhythm as the driver’s heart rate.

The images themselves are quite impressive and would make for any car tuner’s interest. However, since we’re talking about an effect that works best while on the road we’ve also listed Lexus’ video with the RC F in action.
