Of all the ways you could think of of policemen spending their time while on late-night duty, this is the funniest. And least harmful, all things considered.
A couple of cops from Plymouth, Devon, U.K., spent last weekend chasing down a dinosaur in their patrol car. The chase was recorded on their dashcam and then posted online by the Charles Cross Police Team, to the delight of everyone else.
You will also find the footage at the bottom of the page. We’re still trying to decide which is funnier: the man in the dinosaur suit thinking he can outrun a police car, or the way the cops inside the car are laughing.

If you’re curious as to how the chase ended, you should know that the dinosaur was caught in the end. Predictably so. The poor guy ran out of breath in what can only be a rather heavy and restrictive costume – at least, restrictive when it comes to escaping the long arm of the law.
“Makes you wonder how they became extinct doesn't it,” the male officer is heard saying, as the car approaches the suspect.
Sadly, the video doesn’t come with any context. Despite several inquiries from followers, the police have refused to say why they were chasing the poor dinosaur in the first place or what happened with it afterwards. The British media notes that the dude in a costume is a “reveler,” but there is no confirmation as to whether this had anything to do with the chase.
