On Monday, the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show was the host of a couple of premieres from BMW. Apart from the self-drifting cars they introduced, a collaboration with Samsung was also unveiled.
The Korean giant released the so-called Galaxy Gear last year, some kind of digital watch that connects to your Android Samsung Galaxy S4 device and does a lot of cool tricks. Seeing an opportunity here, the BMW guys decided to see how life is on the other side of the fence. And by fence, I mean iOS.
The i3 came out with the BMW i Remote App that was destined exclusively for iPhone users up until recently. With the help of Galaxy Gear, the app is now also available for Android devices, allowing you to control various aspects of your car with your watch.
Amongst the things you can do you’ll find: checking the battery charge, control the climate control, check the status of the windows and sunroof and even send a navigation address to the car’s iDrive system. More details in the video below.
