Here's How to Keep a Lexus LFA Supercar in Top Shape

While Lexus big shots are still undecided whether to offer a successor for the LFA supercar or not, those who already own one know that the apple of their eye requires special attention.

Simply put, you can't have your Lexus LFA serviced in your cousin's garage or even at a regular Toyota dealer. In case you're wondering why, we have two answer versions for you: the short one and the long one.

While the short one would just state that the LFA is a too rare and specialized piece of hardware, the extended answer has a lot to do with Toyota engineers and the company's TMG (Toyota Motorsport GmbH) testing and development facility in Germany.

Of course, Lexus LFA fans and especially owners will be more interested in the second option, as the TMG facility is the only place in Europe where you can have your LFA serviced. It goes the same if you bought a second hand LFA and a problem popped up after the transaction, even if it's as common as an oil change: you need to see these guys, recently interviewed by XCar.

"The customer who runs an LFA that needs servicing, the LFA will be brought here, to TMG.[...] We can completely rebuild a car if necessary, we can repair the monocoque but until now we haven't had this kind of cases as customers who drive an LFA are very, very careful," explained Rob Leupen, Toyota Motorsport GmbH Vice President.

Next time you'll drive the LFA like you stole it, it will come as a relief knowing that someone can take care of damages in case things go sideways. Remember though, that's not for free and it won't work if the car is totaled. After all, only 500 LFA units were built and it would be a shame if one went to Supercar Heaven.
