BMW finally launched the much coveted i3 last week in a ceremony that took place on 3 continents at the same time, in London, New York and Beijing. We already knew how it would look like by the time it was released but somehow we still have room for other alternatives.
Theophilus Chin did a rendering to address all those people that claim the i3 is not within BMW traditional values and it's actually plain ugly (so they say). Seeing that a lot of people were disappointed, he immediately got to work and came up with this.
It's a lower and a bit wider than the original car, with a different bonnet (that has a different shape on the production vehicle due to pedestrian protection laws) and it's a bit more straightforward.
Whilst this version might be more appealing for some, we think it's a bit too classic. After all, the i3 will forever remain stuck in the history of BMW, being the first all-electric vehicle, and its design had to show it.
However, when it comes to design cues, the old latin saying "De gustibus non est disputandum" applies every time. What do you think? Which one is better?
