Here's a McLaren P1 Taxi. Or Is it?

Taxis are part of our lives for now, at the very least, since alternatives seem like a better idea lately. We’re referring to Uber, of course, that has all kinds of cars for hire, from cheap to luxurious. They don’t have a McLaren P1 though!

This yellow hypercar was just spotted in Taiwan, wearing a shade of yellow that is incredibly close to what taxis around the world are dressed up in usually. To top things off and make people think this is actually a taxi, the owner decided also to add a sign on the roof, just for fun.

Being located in Taiwan, we find it hard to believe that this could actually be used just to carry people around from one point to another. On top of that, can you imagine how expensive it would be?

The McLaren P1 used to cost around €1 million, and it has specs that will make you teary-eyed in no time. Considered the successor of the original McLaren F1, the P1 uses a 3.8-liter V8 that makes 727 HP and 719 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque. That’s joined by an electric motor making 176 HP and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque that can work at the same time as the ICE.

Together they develop 903 HP and 978 Nm (722 lb-ft) of torque, numbers that allow the lightweight car to post incredible performance numbers: 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). On top of all that, it can be driven in all electric mode, protecting the environment at the same time. Now, how fast and eco friendly is the fleet of cars from your favorite taxi company?
