According to his own social media description, Henrik Fisker is somebody who “never gives up.” We have seen that following his botched attempt at going Tesla-style with the Fisker Karma PHEV sedan. Now he has set his sights on more lucrative segments, such as the SUV and pickup truck worlds.
Clearly, Henrik Fisker is a major automotive personality. He’s famous for designing the BMW Z8 and Aston Martin DB9, among other cars, for heritage automakers. He’s also infamous for the Fisker Karma failure. And, just like the Phoenix bird, for resurrecting his entrepreneurial skills with Fisker Inc. to create EVs like the EMotion all-electric sports sedan or Ocean sport utility vehicle.
He’s probably looking to cover all the basics, because he recently took to social media for a teaser of the company’s upcoming “lifestyle pickup truck” while fighting the illness that took 2020 by storm. We’re rooting for his quick and easy recovery also because we’re very much interested in finding out new details about this project.
The 2022 Fisker Ocean EV is said to come next year, so we’re not expecting this EV pickup truck to materialize anytime soon. According to Fisker’s own words, we’re not even dealing with the exact styling, as the design of the “final (version) will be way more radical.” It seems Tesla’s Cybertruck is in for some serious competition in the looks department, though we would advise Fisker to avoid taking the same route, given the backlash.
Since one geometrically shaped pickup truck seems to be enough for the world, we feel safe Fisker won’t copy the Tesla recipe ad litteram, though. Still, we’ll have to wait for more news from the company before passing judgment.
For now, all we know is the lifestyle pickup truck might be Fisker’s next project. If approved, it would also strive to become “the lightest, most efficient EV pickup in the world, making it the most sustainable.” Given that its Ocean crossover has been dubbed the “world’s most sustainable vehicle,” it’s safe to assume the two would share many technical similarities.

Ok, yes, next vehicle might be a lifestyle pick up truck! But not just any truck! We want to create the lightest, most efficient EV pick up in the world! Making it, the most sustainable! image is just a teaser! Not the final: final will be way more radical! #fisker #EV #truck pic.twitter.com/g3MQNa34wL
