Despite having started out at BMW, where he penned the gorgeous Z07 Concept and the Z8 Roadster, Henrik Fisker is more renowned for designing the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the DB9.
Sure, since departing Aston Martin, he was also in charge of drawing the ill-fated Artega GT and starting the unsuccessful Fisker Automotive company, for which he penned the Karma luxury plug-in hybrid.

In recent years, though, he has been more famous for entering into a lot of quarrels with his former employer, Aston Martin Lagonda Limited. In 2016, those arguments entered the legal realm, since Henrik Fisker just announced that he is suing Aston Martin for Civil Extortion.

In fact, the suit is against Aston Martin Lagonda Limited, the company's North American Branch, Andy Palmer (Aston's CEO), Simon Sproule (Director of Communication) and Marek Reichman (Aston's Design Director). Henrik Fisker wants a nice, round sum of $100,000,000 ($100 million) in compensatory damages from all of the above, so things have indeed escalated to 11.

As most of you probably realized by now, the lawsuit is related to Fisker's upcoming Force 1 supercar, which is set for a public debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show next week. Despite the fact that only a sketch of the model was revealed until now, Aston Martin saw fit to send Fisker a letter in which it demanded the designer to either modify the supercar's design or simply not bring it at NAIAS.

Somewhat understandably, Henrik Fisker is having none of that, so he teamed up with some lawyers and will sue the bejesus off of Aston Martin.

According to the Brits, the car depicted in the Fisker sketch is “of concern to Aston Martin because it is strikingly similar to several of Aston Martin's cars, including the DB10 car (the James Bond car). For example, this striking similarity is obvious from the side-by-side comparison of the Fisker sketch and the DB10 cars shown below on the left (the DB10 photograph on the left has ‘reversed polarity,’ i.e., the car is reversed so the car is facing the same direction as Fisker's for an appropriate comparison).” (you can check out said picture in the adjacent photo gallery, ed)

Henrik Fisker goes to a great extent in trying to deliver a clear motive for this unprecedented lawsuit, but our take is that his chances of winning are rather slim, especially considering all the details, which you can find in the attached pdf file down below.
