Texas-based performance specialist Hennessey took its Venom GT and Nissan GT-R HPE750 to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin during the American Le Mans Series and World Endurance Championship races that took place last month.
The supercars were filmed using a GoPro camera installed on the GT-R and shows the Lotus Exige-based vehicle racing behind the modified JDM machine. Unfortunately, passing wasn’t allowed and track action is pretty much limited to a standard chase, even though the Venom looks more than anxious to storm past the GT-R.
According to Hennessey, the Venom GT ran on 800 HP power settings, while the GT-R HPE750 used 750 horsepower to lap the Formula One track. As a reminder, the Venom GT can develop as much as 1,200 HP and accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in only 2.5 seconds.
