As part of the “because why not?” side of the US car industry, Hennessey Performance can supercharge your 2015 Cadillac Escalade. When it comes to SUVs like this Caddy, numbers are more or less relevant, so the Texan aftermarket developer ha decided to pit its supercharged model against the stock car.
Hennessey placed a 2015 Escalade next to its blown incarnation of the SUV and drag raced the two, providing us with the footage below, in a bid to make sure we understand the difference made by the forced induction, in terms of rushing towards the horizon, as well as when it comes to the soundtrack.
Notice that the stock Escalade has a bit of a head start here, but the souped up model quickly makes up for that and carries on to pick the fruits of its high-psi passion. Speaking of which, we’ll mention the specs of Hennessey Performance Engineering package for the Escalade.
Dubbed HPE 550, the kit takes the 6.2-liter V8 from its stock output of 426 hp and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) to what we could call a nicely rounded output. To be more precise, we are talking about 557 hp and 542 lb-ft (Nm).
Aside from the 1.9 liters of supercharger, the kit includes an intercooler, as well as a custom ECU map. The tuner can also gift the Escalade with a pair of 20-inch H1 forged monoblock wheels, you know, because... wheels.
