Chevrolet claims the 2014 Corvette Stingray has a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h). We’ve already seen the sportscar reach almost 185 mph (300 km/h) on the German Autobahn last month and we can’t see why it wouldn’t go up to 190 mph during an adequate test.
Now some of you must be wondering whether the 2014 Corvette can reach the 200 mph mark or not. Well, nobody tried it until now, but Hennessey’s latest experiment is telling us that you’ll need more than just a stock C7 with 460 HP under the hood to do it.
The Texas-based specialists fitted their own 2014 Corvette Stingray with the HPE600 naturally aspirated package plus a 100-shot of nitrous oxide, which translates into a total output of 700 horsepower. Just enough to take the new Vette up to 200.6 mph (322.8 km/h) on a Texas toll road. Watch the full run in the video below.
