With all that is going around the world right now, we kind of lost track of our favorite off-road carpocalypse director from Hollywood. But, just in case George Miller decides to try and lure out Dwayne Johnson for either a new installment of the Mad Max franchise or the Furiosa spin-off, we think the perfect automotive incentive just surfaced.
It’s on sale from the Garage Kept Motors inventory in the form of a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited sporting custom modifications and a HEMI V8 surprise under the hood. Although not the craziest we’ve seen on this dealer’s lot, it certainly qualifies among the most eccentric of late.
It’s certainly a build that will command everyone’s undivided attention no matter the circumstances, whether the new owner is casually shopping for the most fashionable outfit or gunning for all-out rock-crawling glory on the trails of Moab, Utah.
Now, to explain the initial reference, this build struck us as something that Johnson’s character from the Fast and Furious franchise would use if Luke Hobbs would have to deal with a post-apocalyptic future a la Miller’s Mad Max. It's also something we’d like to drive in the event of a zombie-related incident.
But let’s get back on the right track. The not-so-old Wrangler has been transformed into something that looks both futuristic and edgy, so it could well fit into the timeless category. Better yet, it’s got all the technical prowess to keep up with the toughened looks.
That’s because under the hood, it sports a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 (probably the same one arriving under the hood of the Wrangler Rubicon 392) that will make itself noticed not just through sheer power but also via the soundtrack provided by the custom exhaust setup.
It’s naturally mated to an automatic transmission and a 4WD system that’s not overly worried about delivering all the power to the ground. That’s mostly because it has ample help from the chunky 37-inch tires that neatly wrap around a set of 22-inch alloys from Axe Wheels.
The exterior commands most of the attention with its completely white body save for the green accents, huge lift, and custom details, so we’re just going to say the interior is pretty much a standard Sahara affair. That means one will have to carefully ponder if everything adds up to the rather steep asking price of $62,900.
