More and more units of the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye are landing in the hands of owners these days. Of course, this means we get to discover the real-world drag racing potential of the reigning Mopar king.
For now, we've brought along a drag racing stunt that sees the Hellcat Redeye duking it out with the retired SRT halo car, namely the Dodge Demon.
Fortunately, the owners of the two muscle beasts decided to take the battle to the drag strip, which means they not only kept things on the safe side, but also enjoyed the prepped surface of the track.
The battle, which can be seen in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, involves stock incarnations of the two blown Challengers, at least as far as we know .
However, we're not sure about the tires on the Hellcat Redeye (an YouTube commenter mentioned the muscle car used Nitto NT05R drag radials for the rear axle). You see, according to its maker, the 979-pony toy can play the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds when in Widebody form. And we can tell you that the Redeye sitting before us beat that time by quite a margin, as you'll get to notice in the clip.
As for the Demon, this didn't run at 100 percent of its potential. In fact, very few runs involving the 840 horsepower animal end up producing the promised 9.65s 1,320 feet time.
Of course, the fact that the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye punched above its weight (no pun intended) and the Demon did the opposite only made the battle more enticing.
Now, the video showcasing the fight between the supercharged Challengers also involves another Hellcat-engined toy, namely the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. For the record, this example of the 707-pony Jeep performed just like it was supposed to and, among others, this meant it put on a monstrous show with its all-paw launch.
