Hell on Earth: Huge Unavoidable Highway Pothole

Countries and transportation ministries in particular spend millions of euros every year to create and maintain the necessary infrastructure for us, the drivers, to be able to go from point A to point B quick and safe. But sometimes, a simple Act of God is enough to destroy all things the humanity struggled to build over the years. Now imagine the following scenario. You're driving your newly-acquired Lambo (we're a bit eccentric of course) on a highway and singing with your sweetheart one of your favorite songs. Instantly, a black hole which seems to be a volcano crater calmly rests on the middle of the road and waits for your car to jump into it. The only thing you have to do is to start praying and hope that your beast has what it needs to keep you alive. And now, the real story (unfortunately, it doesn't differ too much from our very own novel)... What you're seeing in the adjacent photos is actually a highway. Or better said, it was one. We're not sure whether the huge pothole is indeed the result of a natural phenomenon or just the consequence of the bad way the local government managed the country's budget. But we do know that such a thing is extraordinary dangerous for our lives and leaving the ironic attitude aside, this must not happen on a fast road such as a highway. The potholes appeared on a Hungarian highway and according to various sources, it led to several accidents, but we still don't know for sure whether it also led to fatalities or not. Obviously, insurance companies across Hungary won't be happy at all to read this story, as the final value of damages per car is probably exceeding several hundreds of euros. Update: one of our readers informed us that the pothole was a result of flooding from the Cuhai-Bakony stream near Gyoer. There were no serious accidents, just several damaged cars, with the highway being closed soon after the local authorities learned about the incident.
