Besides being a MotoGP pilot for Avintia, Spaniard Hector Barbera is one of the "bad boys" on the grid, and it looks like his encounters with the police are not exactly rare.
Two nights ago, Barbera was caught driving his Maserati in Valencia without a license. He was taken into custody and appeared in front of a judge. He got away with a €3,600 ($4,925).
His driving license was suspended at the time, and the judged "kindly" offered 10 months of penalty at a daily rate of €12 ($16.4). Barbera was also positively tested for alcohol in January 2012 and received a license suspension, but this time he was sober.
Last year, after a violent dispute with his girlfriend, he was also sentenced to 6 months in jail, but with the punishment later commuted to community service. His girlfriend also got a 5-month sentence, but received a suspension, due to having a clean record.
