Bridging the gap between the superbike realm and the adventure/travel machine territory, the all-new BMW S1000XR arrives as a most promising option for a growing niche. The niche we're are talking about is getting bigger because more and more riders start to feel like having powerful, fast machine at their disposal, but which can also be ridden for 10 hours a day.
While fast and powerful was already at hand, with the acclaimed S1000RR TT Winner, comfort was not. The RR suffix was specific enough and told a story of high performance for those willing and those who could spend several hours in the saddle of a superbike.

S1000RR grunt, R1200GS comfort

The mix of performance and comfort was a tricky business because the line between the two can easily transform into a failure, in case the perfect compromise is not reached. The house of Munich, however, seem to have pressed the right buttons, as the S1000XR has already received a fantastic welcome.

With 160 horsepower easy to rein with riding modes, modern ABS, and active suspensions, the 2015 BMW S1000XR can also haul a lot of gear, thanks to a frame dedicated to long-range touring. Multiple other tech packages are also available to those willing to spend extra money to ride a fully-loaded bike, but the spirit of the new sport-adventure class is the main thing.

Fun in the city and on the highway, the S1000XR will also feel reassuring on less-than-perfect roads, thanks to all the smart technologies aimed at making the ride smooth and enjoyable even when the roads are lousy.

Knock yourselves out listening to the grunt of the BMW S1000XR ridden both leisurely and hard around these sweet winding roads!
