Usually, most dyno videos we post are of monsters that have been modified in some of the most extreme ways imaginable. This, this is not the case, as the only modification this Mercedes-Benz SL 550 R231 (also know as the SL 500 in Europe) has is a muffler replacement from RENNtech.
Sure, the SL 550 is no slouch to begin with, its 4.7-liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivering no less than 435 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb ft) of torque.
What effect would a pair of RENNtech stainless steel sport mufflers have on those figures, you ask? Well, normally, considering we're only talking mufflers and not an entirely new exhaust system, you wouldn't think they would have that much of a difference, but you'd be wrong.
According to RENNtech, their mufflers bring in an extra 15 hp and 27 Nm (20 lb ft) on the SL's engine, which is pretty unbelievable if you ask us. Even if the gains aren't exactly that high, the new sound alone is definitely worth it. Volume up, as usual:
