Hayabusa Gets Platinum Air Suspension Touch

The team of specialists at Platinum Air Suspension has introduced a superior air ride technology for Suzuki Hayabusa, a system that allows riders to set the rebound and ride height of their sportbike. The adjustment, which uses the company’s BLEED FEED technology, is made by the flip of a switch.

According to the guys at Platinum Air Suspension, ride and handling are significantly improved because there is no bottoming out or bouncing.

"We feel it is critical not to compromise handling and full suspension movement when adjusting the ride height of a high performance motorcycle like the Suzuki Hayabusa,"
said Platinum Air Suspension owner Mike Ferris.

The system includes an air cylinder, machined from 6061 T-6 billet aluminum. The kit includes an air-control valve, DOT approved quarter-inch air lines, fittings, air compressor, switch hardware and a line cutter. Detailed mounting instructions are included. Platinum kits are also available at additional cost in powder coat, anodize and chrome.

Hayabusa Mono Shock characteristics:
  • Min. Retracted 12"
  • Max. Extended 14"
  • Rear Lift: 4” to 5”
  • Shock Travel: 2”
  • Diameter: 3 1/4"

The Suzuki Hayabusa returns for 2011 in Pearl Mirage White or Pearl Nebular Black, powered by the same 4-stroke, Liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, 1340cc engine coupled with an optimized 6-speed transmission.

Highlights include 3-spoke cast-aluminum-alloy wheels, shoed with 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) front and 190/50ZR17M/C (73W) rear radial tires. The Japanese manufacturer has fitted the bike with the S-DMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector), which allows the rider to choose from three different engine settings depending on riding conditions or rider preference.
