The looks of the Harley-Davidson Road Glide are a matter of love or hate, this goes without saying. Some would kill for a ride behind the sharky nose, while others would rather walk. But behind the love or hate, the 2015 MY Harley-Davidson got some nifty upgrades for the next season and we’ve also got the first photos of the new machine.
First off, the MoCo says the new Road Glide will be much more comfortable to ride because of the new handlebars. The grips have been moved closer to the rider by 5.5 inches (14cm), and this eliminates the unnecessary stretching some riders complained about. So now, even fellows with shorter arms will feel better aboard the Road Glide.

The fairing was redesigned and wind tunnel-tested, and Harley brags it offers the best weather protection, at least for its class. The air stream is being split by three vents, which channel the air around the rider, increasing comfort and reducing both head buffeting and noise. The dual Daymaker lighting array promises 85% more spread and 6% punch on low beam, with the same figures for the high beam being 35 and 45 percent.

You’ll get a full-color 6.5“ touchscreen display with updated graphics, custom colors, auto and manual dim. Just like the ABS, this will be an optional feature for the standard version of the bike and a stock trim for the Road Glide Special. Speaking of brakes, the machine is equipped with Reflex linked brakes, a system which electronically interconnects the front and rear systems and provides optimal force distribution for both axles.

The 2015 Road Glide is powered by the fuel-injected Twin Cam 103 1690cc air-cooled v-twin plant, which packs 142 Nm (104 lb-ft) of torque at 3250 revs, mated to a 6-speed transmission. Enforcer cast aluminium wheels are standard.

You’ll be able to get a glimpse of the 2015 Harley-Davidson in Sturgis these days, as the bike makes debut. No price was announced yet, but it definitely won’t be cheap.
