The title reads a rather weird thing, but there's nothing amiss: the Pope has just blessed two Harley Davidson fuel tanks to mark the official countdown for the June 2013 110th anniversary of the legendary American bike manufacturer.
Willie G. Davidson, grandson of one of Harley-Davidson's founders and his son Bill have met the Pope, and brought two commemorative fuel tanks for a special blessing. Having absolutely no objection to such a deed, the Pope Benedict has graciously cast his blessing upon said tanks.

This comes as the preface to the next year's 110th anniversary for Harley-Davidson party in Rome, scheduled for June 13-16. The celebrations will include a party in the Port of Ostia, a bike parade through central Rome, two major concerts at the Stadio Olimpico and again, a mass motorcycle blessing happening in the St. Peter's Square.

As both commemorative tanks have been signed by Pope Benedict, their value skyrocketed. Yet one will be installed on a Harley-Davidson bike which will find its resting place in the company's Milwaukee museum, while the second one will be mounted on a bike to be auctioned. The raised funds will be donated to the Good Samaritan Foundation and are intended for charity.

The 110 years mark will be celebrated in 12 massive events in 11 countries across six continents, through September 2013.
