Everybody knows a Harley when they see one. However, this may not be the case here as things seem to be changing for the company. New worldwide developments have led the team to expand into the e-bike sector.
One of the treats they have in store for us this upcoming spring 2021 is the Rush/CTY. Mind you, there will be two Rush/CTYs and the one you see here is the step-through frame model.
So what does it bring to our dinner table, taking into consideration Santa’s going to be dishing out $4,399 if you put this on your list? Well, you can do a couple of things to find out. First, you can click here to be transported directly to Santa’s workshop, where he’ll be showing you how much he paid for your toy, or you can just stay put and check out the gallery. The text will be here when you’re ready.
Had a look? What do you think? If you’re like me, then this is more than just the next bike for you to cruise around town. If used properly, an e-bike of this sort is an asset - including for fun.
Now, step-through frames are usually designed for the ladies. But, by the looks of this thing, men will want a ride too! Just getting on one should be a breeze. If anything happens, don’t worry about catching your footing; this sort of frame comes with one of the highest safety ratings around.
Speaking of the frame, Harley chose to bring hydroformed aluminum into the mix, with a welded construction and internal cable routing, giving the Step-Thru a clean solid look and feel.
To give you an idea of the Harley power we’ve grown accustomed to, the team threw on a Brose S Mag brushless mid-drive motor with a 250W power rating. Isn't that tiny, though? For us mortals maybe, but for Harley, it’s all they needed. With that 250W motor, they squeeze out a brutal 90 Nm (60 lb-ft) of torque, propelling your lazy legs to a 20 mph (32 kph) speed cap for the U.S. market. Still, those with a few college courses in electrical engineering or software will probably be able to mess with that.
To power this seemingly small motor, we are offered a 529Wh integrated battery that can also be removed for quick and easy charging. It provides the possibility to cover 90 miles (144 km) on a full charge, depending on which of the four assist modes you select. Controlling all the output is a Brose Display Allround, giving you easy access at all times for whatever power level you want and need.
Helping put the power down is an Enviolo Automatiq auto-shifting hub, all held together by a wave-riding Gates Carbon Drive system. And, thanks to a set of Tektro four-piston hydraulic brakes with 203 mm (8-in) rotors, your city riding just got a massive upgrade.
What sets this model apart from other family members, aside from the frame, is the addition of fenders, a cargo rack that is found over the rear tire, and a storage compartment for small objects.
Honestly, I would so rock this; take a closer look, maybe you’ll want to be caught riding this while wearing a tutu too. Or is that just me?
