Building on the 1977 Low Rider, the Harley-Davidson Low Rider S is the third member of the S family. It appears that the Low Rider S will be a limited edition machine, therefore those who think about getting one should better get in touch with the local H-D dealer and reserve one.
Like the other new machine Milwaukee showed recently, the CVO Pro Street Breakout, the Low Rider S is equipped with Screamin' Eagle parts that make it stand out from the crowd. The Twin Cam 110 1,801cc engine is paired to a high-volume matching breather with a conical open filter.
This helps the power plant produce 116 lb-ft (157Nm) of torque to be disposed of by the six-speed transmission. The Dyna frame now rolls with ABS brakes as standard and new front rotors, a traditional telescopic fork and cool golden aluminum rims that make an elegant contrast with the darkened attire of the bike.
As far as aesthetics go, it is obvious that Harley-Davidson insisted on giving the Low Rider S a more badass attire. Instead of the usual chrome bling most MoCo bikes sometimes abuse, the new S machine takes on a new road.
The entire bike is painted black, with glossy areas alternating satin ones. The only parts that stray from the darkened reign are the rims and golden tank badges, and the fork legs. The collectors are not black, but ample, black heat shields cover the shine of the steel and make up for this "mistake."
H-D also equipped the Low Rider S with a small "speed screen" front cowl that also houses the headlight and which harks back to the Sons of Anarchy days, which is a thing that will certainly help some riders decide to pull the trigger on this machine. The US prices start at $16,699, while European riders can get one for at least €19,785.
