Harley-Davidson, Is This Your 500cc Bike?

It's no longer a secret that Harley-Davidson is ready to shake off the exclusive big-bore bike manufacturer image and their operations around the rumored 500cc Sportster have made it to the front page more than once, if without any official positions.

However, during the celebrations of their 110th anniversary, COO Levatich kind of spilled the beand (though not all the beans) and spoke about having actually ridden the 500cc machine. He used "nimble, light weight, has a low seat height and supple throttle and braking," to describe it, then added: "I’ve ridden it – it looks great, sounds great, it’s a Harley, and it’s priced right."

The India-built small H-D was reportedly spotted by Team-BHP. In case this is how the smallest Harley looks like, we'd say we like it, even though these photos don't show too much novelty for the new machine.

Nice to see it is a lot more straight and this harks back to some flat tracker designs of yore. Not sure how would some apehangers look on it, but we're positive H-D has already prepared a hefty line-up of aftermaket parts and accessories for the small Sportie.

Remains to be seen how will the advertising treat the "Made in India" tag, since it's going to be a big leap of faith if the MoCo wants to convince the "American pride riders" they're actually throwing a leg over a genuine Harley.

Levatich also mentioned some electro-curiosity back at the HQs , but we'll have to delve deeper into this. Of course, a bike such as the Trunk would be insanely cool!
