Sifting through the many announcements made by Harley-Davidson during its online event on Tuesday, we felt a bit disappointed at what we got to see. Sure, we got a new, more powerful Street Bob, extra fittings for the CVOs, and even a new sound system, but we didn’t get anything to really get our hearts pumping.
It may very well be that the something we were waiting for is the Pan America, but that one is getting its separate event on February 22. So, until then, we’re only left with what we’ve already seen, and the cherry on this rather tasteless cake consists of the revisions made to Harley’s baggers, the two-wheelers the company itself describes as being “designed to rule the boulevard on Friday night and run for the border at daybreak.”

The bike maker likes to say it launched a “trio of hot rod baggers” on Tuesday, comprising the Road King Special, Road Glide Special, and Street Glide Special. All are powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine good for 118 lb-ft (160 Nm) of torque.

The biggest visual change made to the models is the addition of a chrome option, with the material used on the covers, front end, handlebar, exhaust, tank console, and elsewhere. This package is not available for the Road King Special.

Other changes, this time shared by all three baggers, are the low profile engine guards that mount 11 inches (279 mm) lower than on a standard Touring to give the baggers a more aggressive look, the LED headlamp, and a new tank medallion based on the Bar & Shield logo. The Street Glide Special and Road Glide Special are also the beneficiaries of a new two-tone paint.

No announcement about the market launch or pricing has been made at this point. You can read the full details of the changes designed for the baggers in the press release section below.
