The Circuit of The Americas, in Austin, Texas played host to the American part of this year’s Formula 1 championship, and despite Sebastian Vettel starting first off the grid, after an excellent qualifying run, it was Brit Lewis Hamilton who managed to cross the line first.
Vettel was first into turn one, with Mark Webber, Hamilton and Alonso hot on his track. The Spaniard made a great start, jumping from 7th place, into 4th, following the team decision to demote Felipe Massa by five places, in order to allow Alonso a more clear shot at the win.

Sebastian Vettel began building his lead, with Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton battling it out for second place behind him. Following Romain Grosjean’s stop for fresh tires, which ultimately lead him to post several fastest laps, prompted both Alonso and Hamilton to go in for fresh rubber, as well - Webber retired on lap 17.

This allowed Vettel to extend his lead at the front of the pack, to three seconds. However, Hamilton was able to catch up again, and he remained within a second of the leader until lap 42, when the Brit managed to get past Vettel, who was being held up by a slower driver.

By the end of the race, Hamilton crossed the line six tenths ahead of Vettel, who also set the fastest lap record of the race, on the final lap of the race. Following the two, Alonso came third, followed by Felipe Massa, Button, Raikkonen, Grosjean, Hulkenberg, Maldonado and Senna.

So, after this penultimate race, it`s official - Red Bull have won their third consecutive constructors’ title, while Sebastian Vettel is 13 points ahead of Alonso, with a current total of 273 points. The last GP of the season, which will be held in Brazil, is going to be a very interesting one, and we`ll keep our eye on it - final race is set to take place on November 25th.
