Hamilton Vs Vettel Lineup Would Cause Fireworks - Manager

No further than a couple of weeks ago, some voices from within the title-winning Red Bull organization had hinted that Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel would make for an incredible combo at Milton Keynes. Not only that, but the team's motorsport advisor Helmut Marko actually told the media that Hamilton will be considered by the Austrian squad for the 2012 campaign, should Red Bull decide not to extend Mark Webber's stay from next year onwards.

However, probably after Hamilton's recent comments directed at the Red Bull team and Sebastian Vettel in particular, team principal Christian Horner seems to have experienced a change of heart regarding a potential pairing between the two.

It's difficult to see how you could have two drivers of Lewis' and Sebastian's calibre under one roof,” said Horner in a recent talk he had with the BBC reporters. “There tends to be fireworks as we saw with Fernando Alonso and Lewis (at McLaren),” he added.

One might interpret Horner's comments in a sense that Vettel's current teammate, 34-year old Mark Webber, is not of the same caliber with either the reigning world champion or the McLaren driver. And Horner was the first to take care of that, insisting that this is certainly not what he meant.

Absolutely not. They (Vettel and Webber) are at different stages of their careers and they complement each other,” insisted the youngest team manager in the paddock.

Hamilton's switch to Red Bull in 2012 would be close to impossible anyway, as his deal with McLaren Mercedes runs until the end of next season. This summer should witness some serious moves on the drivers market, with Webber's future at Red Bull to be decided and also Hamilton's contract with McLaren probably waiting for another extension.
