Hamilton Vows to Change Racing for F1 Wins

Lewis Hamilton congratulated his teammate Jenson Button for his double-win performance this season, and vowed to change his driving style in order to get on the winning list himself in the near future. While the 2008 world champion pulled overtaking maneuvers like crazy in the first 4 races of the season, his teammate had far more success doing strategic moves and racing “easy.”

Hamilton agreed that he needs to squeeze the most of his MP4-25's potential this season and admitted that Button is currently doing a better job than him at that.

I do all that hard racing and don't have the wins, while Jenson has two – which is fantastic for him. I've done it the hard way and he's had the easier way. I feel I have had great race, but he has taken the right decisions and taken the easier route. I have had the harder route and got good results, but hopefully soon I will take the easier route and it will be a lot easier,” said Hamilton this week, according to Autosport.

Button's two out of four wins this season pushed him all the way to the leading spot in the overall classification, some 10 points clear of second placed Nico Rosberg and 11 from teammate Hamilton and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. Heading back to Europe, Hamilton said he feels as confident as ever for the title race, especially since the 0-2 record against Button in terms of wins did not lead to a huge points gap in the standings.

It is important to get some wins. He has two now but I am only 11 points behind. I've scored good points considering things,” added Hamilton, who recorded 2 podiums so far in the 2010 series.
