Mercedes-Benz and Lewis Hamilton had another very successful Formula One season, there’s no denying it. Coming from their sixth back-to-back titles last year, this troubled season was one for a record-breaking legacy. Thus, Mercedes became the only one with seven consecutive Constructors Championships, while Hamilton managed to outscore Michael Schumacher’s record for total career wins.
What else is there for the seven-times F1 world champion after such a successful season, aside from checking out the latest S-Class?! Well, Hamilton is probably ready to demonstrate that his Mercedes seat is fully occupied and has already started an “After work” program.

Actually, the moniker is taken from Mercedes-AMG's latest marketing campaign, which demonstrates the talented driver has quickly recovered from the health predicament that got him off the team for a short while. Now, he’s already out and about in the Project One.

Yes, the Mercedes-AMG Project One hybrid supercar is still a thing and is currently ready for the final development phase. One that will see Lewis “test the current status of the project and contribute his know-how from the top discipline in motorsport” as the sports car maker prepares to finally bring the two-seater hypercar and its F1-inspired technology from the racetrack to the road.

It’s been a long and arduous development cycle for Project One, but Mercedes-AMG has now made the promise of not only bringing out the model in 2021, but also introduce “two further electrified models and the new AMG technology label E Performance.

Meanwhile, we can see the 740 kW (1,000 PS/ 992 hp) and 350 kph (217 mph) Project One sport a different camouflage pattern than the last time we checked up on its progress. Mercedes is also showing Hamilton at the wheel and quickly going through the available driving modes (from EVs to R+), causing the plug-in hybrid to bring out the active aerodynamic elements.

Just as important as the Hamilton/Project One pairing is the announcement that Mercedes-AMG is kick starting the sports electrification revolution, as 2021 will also mark the moment when the brand “will power through with the electrification of its portfolio.” The company also promises to “intensify its links with Formula 1” to better ascertain its performance luxury brand identity.
