Hamilton and Alonso Messaging after Valencia Race

Following the European Grand Prix at Valencia, much has been written and said about a potential “revival” of the feud between Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. Soon after the race, the Spaniard accused the FIA stewards of race manipulation, after which Ham responded by saying Alonso's comments were sour grapes.

And, although the Spanish media attempted to create some sort of conflict between the two, Hamilton dismissed all those allegations this past weekend. Coming from a few days of vacationing in southern France, the 2008 Formula One champion actually revealed that he and Alonso have been messaging lately and everything is cool between them.

We messaged the other day and things are cool. I messaged him to see how he was doing. He said everything's cool, that he knows how the racing world works and this is a tough year,” said the British ace in an interview with Press Association Sport.

According to planetf1.com. Hamilton enjoyed some days of relaxation with teammate Jenson Button and some members of the McLaren Mercedes staff last week, including a session of paintball on Friday.

I had such a great week. I had my first few days holiday for a good year, so I feel really good. I spent most of my days in Monaco, and it was cool to be there. I was in a really private place nearby. We drove there at night, went to dinner, to the casino and had some fun. It was really cool,” said Hamilton.

However, with the vacation now over, Hamilton will get into race mode immediately, as preparation for the upcoming British Grand Prix have already gone under way at Woking.

But this is going to be a tough week. It gets so busy. It's just trying to maintain all the energy you have,” added Hamilton.
