Hamann Tycoon Evo BMW X6 Goes to Frankfurt

The German tuners at Hamann have unveiled today their latest creation, dubbed Tycoon Evo, scheduled to make its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Some of you might say that this is not the first time Hamann is working on the X6 and that there isn't much left to say about it. And you could be right. The Tycoon Evo, however, stands out from the crowd thanks to its redesigned fender extensions and the striking rear that includes a sporty exhaust system with a center double end pipes. The Hamann Tycoon Evo X6 new bodykit features new front wings and back wing extensions made of light composite material, redesigned side skirts, large air inlets at the front and LED daytime running lights under the serial headlights. At the rear of the X6, HAMANN engineers replaced the original skirt with their own creation, and added a rear- and roof spoiler. Next, the team had to find a suitable rim for the makeover, so they used the Design Edition Race Anodized. HAMANN offers the 23-inch wheel with 315/25 R 23 tires. Moreover, the progressively coiled springs lowered the barycentre of the SUV by 40 millimeters at the front- and back axle. The tuning experts could not miss the engine and performance improvements, so they provided the X6 xDrive35i with an output of 360 hp at 5230 rpm. At the same time, HAMANN canceled the 250 km/h speed limit and upped it to 275 km/h. The xDrive30d diesel engine has also been modified and is now able to develop 320 hp. However, the eight-cylinder model xDrive50i is the one that offers the maximum performance enhancement, with an engine output increase to 501 hp at 5600 rpm. The maximum speed has also risen significantly to nearly 300 km/h. autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions
