Hamann’s Facebook page was taken by storm by the tuner’s fans yesterday as they revealed the car they plan on racing in this year’s edition of the Gumball3000 Rally. Their weapon of choice? A BMW M4.
This year’s venue will start in June and will feature, as usual, all the craziest cars in the world. Think of it as the real-world version of the Wacky Races.
That’s also what makes the car Hamann chose a bit peculiar, because unlike all the other M4s we’ve seen from them, this one actually has a sober color on the outside. It’s the most politically correct paint ever, gray being exactly between two opposites: black and white.
Of course, it also received the complete works, with a body kit made up of a front spoiler, new side skirts, a big rear wing on the boot, custom bonnet, 7-piece diffuser round the back and even their trademark wheels in 21” guise.
The engine is not stock either, as Hamann also has a kit for the S55 plant that takes it up to 520 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, an incredible amount if you think about the size of the engine. For that whole new level of power to work, you’ll also need an exhaust like the one noticeable in the photos below that has bigger pipes all around.
It’s a truly worthy car for the Gumball3000 rally that will go from Stockholm in Sweden through Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and across the Atlantic to Reno, San Francisco, Los Angeles and finally Las Vegas. Kick-off is scheduled for May 23rd.
