Life goes on for Hamann Motorsports after the death of its founder in March, as the German tuning specialist has revealed its first set of accessories for the new BMW 6-Series Coupe and Convertible models.
The first teaser photos were shown a while back, but this is the first time the firm has detailed what it has done with the brand-new 6er. A full set of images showing the drop-top version of the car have been made available by Hamann, who announced it will unveil a more aggressive tune at the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
Let’s get right into it! The new 6-Series is by no means an ugly car, especially if you compare it to the previous generation, which had the face of a sad parrot and the back of a camel. Hamann has enhanced the drop-tops newly found looks with the addition of its own comprehensive choice of alloy wheel designs in black, silver or a combination of both and in sizes 20- or 21-inches.
Those wheels are connected to the car via a new sports suspension that lowers the car’s ride height by around 30 mm at the front and 25 mm at the rear using new springs.
The other big cosmetic change is the added exhaust system with four tailpipes that compliment the look of the 650i Cabrio. The tips are huge at 90 mm, but Hamann did not reveal whether this provides a boost to performance, so will expect the output of the 4.4-liter V8 to be the same 407 hp as BMW intended it to be.
Interior upgrades come in the form of aluminum pedals and a footrest, plus bespoke foot mats with a silver ‘HAMANN’ logo.
