Hamann Creates ‘memoR’ - Based on McLaren MP4-12C

Some people say that the McLaren MP4-12C is already very alien-esque in its styling, and it takes people a bit to get accustomed to its shape, full of nice styling details, which on this car, being a McLaren, also serve a functional role. However, there are, of course, those who think that no car is too extreme ‘out of the box’, and that any car can be improved.

Hamann have taken a 12C coupe, and have transformed it into the ‘memoR’, by fitting it with a special one-off body kit, and lots of goodies they have access to. The first thing that strikes the eye is the very nice paint finish, which almost looks hand-painted, even though it isn’t. It sets the car apart from anything on the street, and wherever you will park this, it will attract all sorts of attention - perhaps that is its appeal, to some people, but we say it’s a bit too opulent.

On the bodywork side, Hamann have taken inspiration from the Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 of the 1990s, giving the car new body elements all-round. Up front, it gets new carbon fiber mudguards, air intakes and a new front apron, as well as new LED DRLs. It also gets new side skirts, doors, as well as larger air inlets on the sides of the car. The roof scoop, rear wing and new rear diffuser complete the look of the memoR.

The car sits on special 21-inch center-locking rims, with huge 355 section tires on the back. Inside the car is also revised, with new trim materials, which can be specified by each customer after their own preferences. If you are interested in turning your very own 12C into the memoR, be warned that the complete list of modifications will cost you a staggering €95,000 ($123,000).
