Folks, now that we’ve discovered vaccines to end this global health crisis, it’s time to get ready for our old lives. So, if you own a ½ ton truck listen up, because you’ll be glad you read this one. At least look at the photos if reading isn’t your thing.
If you've paid one iota of attention to the words above, you know what this next piece is all about. If you thought it was about a ½ ton truck camper, you’d be right. But this isn’t just any camper; the Lance 650 is one of the worthiest campers around. This is the newest 2021 version.

If you never heard of Lance, don’t worry, this is one of the reasons we’re here. Since 1965, the name Lance has been all over the streets of America. You’ve probably seen one and just haven’t realized it yet. Nonetheless, that's more than 55 years of experience and counting. 56 if we make it through 2021.

As for the 650, wow! You'll agree with that interjection once you’ve checked out the gallery and the video below. Heck, maybe you’ll read the text too. Now, the idea behind the 650 is to make a camper truck that meets the needs of the classic ½ ton truck owner. With that in mind, this lightweight and mobile home is able to fit 5-inch (12.7-cm) and 6-inch (15.4-cm) beds.

To achieve such standards while offering a living space suitable for near-arctic conditions, ingenuity must be one of your tools. For Lance, ingenuity is a part of their work ethic. It’s like they’re hiring process includes a test where you’re required to complete some Einstein-level puzzle box.

Speaking of boxes, the camper includes an aluminum frame construction with tinted thermopane windows, a one-piece PVC roof, and Euro-lite cabinets. With that, an overall length of 15 ft (4.5 m) and 6 in (15.4 cm) is available, with an exterior width of 86 inches (218 cm). The interior height, however, does allow for an above average 81 inches (205 cm) of headroom. This all creates a camper with a wet weight of 1,903 lbs (863 kg).

Enough of the dimensional specs, it’s really the inside we all want and care about; after all, you don’t sleep and eat on top of a camper. Fine, maybe sometimes. But still, you’ll need to cook somewhere. So inside, we find a stainless steel two-burner range and a sink with a high spout faucet. There’s even room for a 3-cu ft (0.08-cu m)fridge and a 5-gallon (18.9 l) propane tank compartment. For watering needs, we find a tankless heater which also feeds the bathroom facilities.

Speaking of the bathroom, inside the 650 you have everything you need. A foot-pedal toilet, shower, and even a skylight to check out a bit of the sky as you refresh your bits. But that doesn’t mean that there’s no attention to the electrical systems. On the contrary, there are so many of them aboard that we’d be here all day if we were to run through all of them. And then there’s the extras and options. Better yet, click here to check out the 650 on your own.

For sleeping, there's the overhead cab compartment. It's equipped with a deluxe queen mattress suitable for two people, and a third guest can crash in the dining area.

Listen, before we go any further, just take a look at the gallery if you haven’t already, check out the video below, and click the link above to have a nice long talk with yourself about your next possible purchase.
