Hackett London's New Williams F1 Ad Turns Mechanics into Real Gentlemen

Suit-wearing gentlemen changing race tires in the same amount of seconds greased up mechanics would do? Yep, that’s possible when we’re looking at a British haberdasher trying to celebrate its collaboration with a racing team. It’s the new commercial Hacket London released the other day and it shows what Williams Martini Racing team is all about.

OK, maybe the idea of raising the bars on track by introducing some manners doesn’t sound that bad. In fact, we’re pretty sure most of the female auto enthusiasts out there like the idea of suiting up F1 mechanics quite a bit, since they say that’s how ladies like their man most. But let’s be honest here, there’s no way that tie remains clean for more than 5 minutes in a real life Formula One competition, especially that we’re talking about the pits stop.

Here, things need to move as fast as possible, nobody has time to look good, keep the outfit nice and clean, right? Still, that doesn’t mean the commercial is not like-able, especially that part when time almost freezes and one of the suit-wearing mechanics cleans Valtteri Bottas’ visor with a pocket square.

Question left to ask is whether people will think of them as Formula 1 mechanics for Williams Martini team or rather as a crowd of stormtroopers who just landed on the track.

Anyway, in case you were wondering, the video was filmed at the Circuito De Jerez, Spain and like we said it celebrates the partnership between Hackett and Williams.
