Guy Martin Rides the Triumph Streamliner at Bonneville

Guy Martin is confirmed as the rider of the Rocket III Streamliner machine Triumph will bring at the Bonneville Salt Flats. It looks like the Lincolnshire racer, who declared that 2015 was the last year when he competed in the Isle of Man TT, just can't stay away from fast riding, and after his presence at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, is looking for even bigger thrills.

We showed you the Triumph Rocket III Streamliner late in 2013, when Jason DiSalvo was eyeing breaking the 400 mph (643.6 km/h) limit. The goal remains the same for August 2015, as nobody reached north of the standing record of 376.363 mph (605.568 km/h). Triumph is thus back to the world land speed record, with high hopes to bring glory to the house of Hinckley after a 45-year absence.

Dual Rocket III turbo engines make 1,000 horsepower

Triumph maintains the recipe used in earlier versions of the Streamliner, and rely on two 2.3-liter Rocket III engines upgraded with turbochargers. It's possible that for 2015, the Streamliner could go well past the 1,000hp @ 9,000 rpm figure and the 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) it produced in the past.

The carbon-kevlar machine was perfect with input from the same Hot Rod Conspiracy, Carpenter Racing and Castrol, and benefits from sponsorship from Belstaff, a brand that has been associated with the motorcycling world for decades.

Now, with a refined machine and Martin at its helm, it looks like the prospects look better. Guy Martin has extensive experience in both motorcycling and racing and he is also a good mechanic. These qualities can prove to be a very important asset for the team and increase the chances of finally breaking the 400 mph barrier.

At the same time, we must not forget about the fact that Guy Martin is also a very popular character outside the racing world. A charismatic individual, Martin also hosted several TV series in the UK and was even credited as one of the possible names in the new Top Gear team.

His charisma can be a most welcome boon for any team having Martin as the central figure and you know the drill, money is always good for racing. As for the looks on Guy's face when he gets close to the Streamliner, they need no words!
