Guy Fed Up with Plumbing Van Hugging the Left Lane Gives the Driver a Call

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all drivers were required by law to have their phone number clearly displayed on their cars? Don't you think people would think twice before being a douchebag in traffic knowing that the other driver has their phone number?
Well, apparently not. There are some who already have their number on the vehicle, and they're called "plumbers." Other jobs may apply as well, but the plumbers - in their white vans or pickup trucks - are a category apart. Just like they have a habit of showing you their butt crack and breaking something else when called to repair one thing, they also tend to be terrible drivers.

Having the number on their cars seems to do nothing to change that, but it at least offers the chance of those suffering from their lack of skill or common sense to tell them about it in person. The only time I called a number on a vehicle was when a driving instructor nearly killed my while I was riding a bicycle, and he didn't even stop to apologize or acknowledge his mistake. And what good did that do? Absolutely none.

This fellow in the video below was a lot luckier than I was. As he was driving down a highway, he got stuck behind the dreaded white van that seemed to be glued to the left lane, even though - he says - it wasn't even doing the maximum speed allowed on that section. Instead of flaming up, flashing the long beam and sounding the horn, our man does the much more responsible thing and gives the man a call.

Probably hopeful of a new contract, the plumber answers. He says he's riding shotgun when asked whether he's driving a white van, presumably because speaking on the phone while at the wheel is forbidden. Or maybe he really was in the right seat. The driver goes on to expose the situation he has created behind him as we can see a long string of cars and even a motorcycle whizz by. Luckily, the plumber is cooperant and he pulls over to the right.

The driver remains polite throughout the conversation, but he does deliver a line that was probably his discreet way of venting his frustration: "We're getting stuck behind you, that's all," meaning "oh, sorry to bother you, but there are quite a few people here who would like to get on with their lives, if you don't mind."
