Gumpert Apollo Crashed by Cocky Teenager

One expensive car owner out there was recently hit where it hurts the most. Lending his Gumpert Apollo, a EUR300,000 supercar to a wreckless teenager, he was left in a total loss condition after his precious car was severely crashed.

Teenager crashing expensive cars has already become a trend these days, so this piece of news comes as no surprise. However, we decided to find out what happened.

It appears that a 20-year-old driver from Germany borrowed the Apollo and decided to take it for a spin. But the testosterone kicked in, so he decided it was a pity to enjoy such a ride solo. He thus decided to invite a 19-year-old girl to accompany him, and the only way he thought of impressing her was by driving really fast in the expensive supercar.

The adjacent image speaks for itself. When you loose control of a 700 horsepower supercar as you enter a curve at high speed, there is only one thing that can happen: a write-off. That right folks, the Apollo died a horrible death. However, both passengers escaped with only minor injuries, a local source reports.

In 2009, the Apollo model set a new world record, becoming the fastest street legal car to lap the Nurburgring track, with a time of 7:11.57 minutes on the Nordschleife (subsequently, the record was broken by the Radical SR8LM).

The Gumpert brand is characterized by the griffin, a mythological creature that is half lion, half eagle, which stands as a symbol of strength and speed, not least a symbol of earth and air.
