It would be of course, very interesting, if we could see the world through the eyes of people who get on scooters and motorcycles even though they know they can't exactly ride.
I wonder what goes on in there: is it any room for self-preservation, fear, thoughts about crashing and becoming injured? I also wonder if these chaps have any sense of the ridiculous. After all we get to see a heap of videos shot by the very individuals that crash in the most embarrassing ways being uploaded to social media platforms...
Frankly, if I was to do something really stupid and crash in such a ridiculous way, say, as the guy in the video after the jump, posting the recording online and sharing it with the planet would probably be the very last thing on the list. But maybe it's just me.
This crash remains hard to explain. It didn't involve losing control of the scooter at high-speed as it is in most cases, and neither was it that brutal whiskey throttle that sends bikes crashing out of control into whatever obstacle is in the way.
The chap starts off slowly from the left side of the paved road and looks like heading into the bike/scooter lane on the opposite side. We can even see a cyclist pedaling in that separate lane prior to the silly crash.
For a reason that still eludes me, the rider fails to drive in the bike lane and crashes on the steps, closely missing smashing his head against the split AC unit. As he rides across the bicycle lane we can see his right hand pulling the throttle but has no reaction to steer from the imminent crash.
Frankly, I am happy this chap went down in that place. Just imagine how would he react in traffic...
