GTM 90 Sportfisher Boat Is a Nearly $8 Million Tuna-Catching Marvel From Dynamiq

Ever imagine how some of the world’s wealthiest live? Well, one of the perks to having millions is the fact that you can afford vessels like the one you see here.

What your eyes are catching sight of in the cover photo is nothing more than a near $8,000,000 boat meant for fishing. No joke. It’s called the GTM 90 Sportfisher, and it isn’t some superyacht design that’s meant to offer you and your guests a space the size of a football field to indulge in their wants and likes, but rather a very luxurious fishing boat from none other than Dynamiq Yachts. This team has been featured here before on Autoevolution, so keep an eye out for links throughout the text.

Now, the vessel you see is, for the time being, a concept, unless of course someone ended up buying one and the world hasn’t been announced. However, being a concept from Dynamiq, a company known for taking their ideas and making them a reality, this boat includes a spec sheet, an interior design ideation, and even build process all worked out.

One thing that will not be changed, in the eventuality that a client comes along, is the exterior. Because the Sportfisher is part of an entire series of vessels from Dynamiq, the GTM 90, it’s made in the image of its brethren; an exterior created by none other than Dobroserdov Design. This entire class of ships was meant to be unveiled at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, but everyone knows how that year went. Maybe this year is a bit more eventful.

As for the Sportfisher, the team set out to create a vessel with an ultra-modern look that includes all the necessary features needed for game fishing. You’ll find live bait wells, rod holders, freezer storages, tuna tubes, and fighting chairs, just to name a few of the features meant to be used for fishing. But there’s also ample room for an open-space galley, alfresco dining, sushi-sashimi dining, entertainment center, sun deck, and even a tender and toy garage.

The ship is also built using a full aluminum construction hull making it capable of tackling a wide range of seas, from fishing in the Caribbean, to the Pacific, and even icy waters of Scandinavia. You name it, the Sportfisher can do it. Using aluminum as opposed to steel does a few things for your ship. The first is a massive three-fold reduction in weight in comparison to steel, and there are fewer vibrations created with an aluminum hull.

With a length of 90 ft (27.5 m) and draft of 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) this vessel can easily cruise through shallows if you just want to check out the local corals. Add a beam of 21 ft 11 in (6.7 m) and suddenly, space for a luxurious interior is unveiled. Inside the Sportfisher, Bentley Home is to be supplying the furniture and accessories you see. One of the benefits you’ll get when you spend the $7,900,000 starting price for this ship is that you’ll work with the team at Bentley in customizing the marbles, fabrics, leathers, and accessories inside your future acquisition. For that price, seems fair. Further accents and materials to be used are hand-tufted silk carpets, bamboo, and wool, all supplied by German-based OT.

Audio and entertainment systems are furnished by British sound maker Bowers & Wilkins. If you’ve never heard of these sound engineers, then you probably don’t have the cash, I know I don’t. A quick search on Google will reveal a speaker system (Nautilus) with a price tag nearing $100,000. About that... Just enjoy the show.

Another major sticking their fingers in this pie is famed Klassen. Yes, the same one that drives diplomates and presidents around city streets. The wheelhouse on the Sportfisher is completed by this team and to the same standards as their vehicles.

For sleeping, 8-9 guests will be housed in four rooms inclusive of the owner’s loft. Taking care of your journey will be a crew of 4 housed in two cabins.

With three Volvo Penta D13 engines, three IPS1350 drives, and two Kohler generators, this puppy tops out at 31 knots and cruises with a speed of 17 knots. Fast enough to track a school of fish and the give you one heck of a time on waters.

If you do happen to put in the down payment for this ship, do note that it will take 18 months to complete, so do plan for next year. By that time, travel restrictions should be lifted and enjoying some freshly caught tuna sashimi is one of the first things on the list for many.
