Remember the Bravado Banshee? No, not the GTA V in-game car, we mean the actual real thing, based on the video game’s ride. Well, it was put up for sale again, for a much lower price tag and it now has a new owner.
You’ve driven it all the way from Liberty City to Los Santos, including as a getaway car in the opening moments of Grand Theft Auto III. You just missed the chance of driving it in real life, as the Banshee was sold yesterday on eBay.
It looks like the last owner couldn't keep up with the heavily-customized 2006 Dodge Viper’s high-maintenance demands. There’s also zero practicality in it, especially since cargo space is reduced by subwoofers so besides showing off and picking up girls, there’s not much you can do with the car.
The previous (three) owners only left 7,500 miles on the car but the stock V10 is not what you would call economical. Speaking of which, the car took around $200k to be built because West Coast Customs had to pay immense attention to details.
Of course, the ideal candidate for owning the car would be someone aged 18 to 24, responsible enough for handling 500+ HP and, goes without saying, a GTA fan. We don't have any info on the buyer yet, but besides these criteria, he also had $80,100 to spare.
The bidding for the car was closed yesterday and the new owner is going to receive the "super fast and loud sports car" in the following days. No matter how much we keep on talking about the car and even if the Banshee has a new owner, there’s still that dilemma lurking around: was it worth buying? Well, it really depends on who you are and what you plan on doing with the car.
My guess is that the Banshee would ideally be better off with an owner who uses is as a Sunday ride and keeps it well maintained and safe the rest of the time.
