Nothing gets the cognitive juices flowing for graphics manipulator quite like a new sportscar. You can chop the roof off and make it into a convertible or extend the body and make a four-door coupe. If you're really crazy, the suspension can be jacked up to create a crossover version of any Porsche 911 or Jaguar F-Type. But everybody's favorite photoshop conversion seems to be the shooting brake.

We really don't know why this wagon of the coupe world has captured everybody's imagination. It's not like shooting brake sales have been stellar. Jaguar has built one off the XF sedan, but other than its participation in the Tour de France, we haven't heard anything exciting about it. Mercedes also built a shooting brake version of the CLS and a last month of the baby CLA model as well.
Still we do wonder what the world would be like if the standard sportscar body style was the shooting brake. Mothers would all have places to store their diapers and baby formulas. Fathers would have the perfect ride for a weekend of golf or tennis.
Hungarian graphics manipulator X-Tomi Design has put together a collection of 10 rendered shooting brakes to help us imagine that world. Some photos are old, like the one of the Toyota GT 86 and the 2015 Ford Mustang. But we all welcome the chance to see fresh red paint and black alloy wheels.
Yet some of the images are brand new, including the one of the M6, which is based on the recently revealed facelift model, less than two weeks old. Which one would we buy? The American coupes have the most power, but for outright sexiness, nothing beats the Mercedes-AMG GT S. I looks perfect from every angle and the big boot does nothing to ruin its design. By contrast, the Nissan GT-R looks absurd.
Well, that all depends on the car you begin with. If it's a front-wheel drive model that doesn't have any mechanical bits over the rear axles, the boot is already large enough. But on something like the AMG GT, the advantages would actually be felt by the owner. Just to give you an example of the increase in storage capacity, the CLA Shooting Brake has 495 liters of storage space, compared to 470 in the sedan. It's not a lot, but if you fold the rear seats down, that more than doubles to 1354 liters.
