Although Greyhound is currently known for shuttling passengers from city to city in buses, the company actually got its start 100 years ago thanks to a 1914 Hupmobile. To celebrate its centennial, Greyhound has been on the road since May making stops in just about every major market with a fleet of vintage buses in tow.
The Centennial Tour will be broken up into a North Tour and South Tour. Joining the North Tour will be a 1937 Yellow Coach Supercoach, a 1948 ACF Brill and a 1984 Americruiser. Those checking out the South Tour will be welcomed by a Hupmobile, 1947 Silversides and the iconic 1954 Scenicruiser. There will also be displays showing how the signage and driver uniforms have changed over the years as well as a look as some of the amenities now offered to customers.

Greyhound has joined an elite group of brands that have withstood the test of time to celebrate 100 years of business, but we’re only here because of hardworking employees, doing what’s right when no one’s watching and dedication to delivering an exceptional customer experience,” said Dave Leach, president and CEO of Greyhound.

The Centennial Tour lasts until December visiting close to 40 cities by the end of this year, so be sure to check them out if you can. To see if your city is one of the remaining stops, check out the calendar HERE. Even if you can’t make it to any of these stops, be sure to check out the gallery of images that Greyhound released showing the evolution of its buses from the simple Hupmobile to the luxurious 2008 Prevost X3-45.
