Gresso Introduces Formula 1 Style Mobile Phones

Luxury electronics company Gresso has just revealed details on the newly-launched Grand Monaco Collection, inspired by Formula 1 racing and rendering the main characteristics of a supercar.

As you may know, Formula 1 engineers consider carbon to be the best material ever used for a racing car body. Well, just as expected for any racing inspired product, the Russians used carbon fiber for the front and back case panels, while the absolutely flat keypad is made out of 100 micron thick steel, covered with titanium Black PVD, which protects the surface from scratches.

Moreover, the keys are made of surgical steel and the numbers and letters are laser cut. For the back cover of the phones, Gresso used a Magnetic Smart lock, while a hand-polished 42 K sapphire crystal protects the display, Luxist reported.

The phone in the series have 2MP camera, tri-band GSM connectivity with GPRS/EDGE, as well as Bluetooth and Java support. Internal memory is supplemented by microSD cards up to 2GB. The Grand Monaco phones are powered by Li-ion batteries, 1100mAh each, providing up to five and half hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby.

The case is made of titanium superalloy and covered with high-tech ceramic in 750C degrees temperature, a coating that prevents tarnishing and color fading.

The limited edition Gresso Grand Monaco Carbon is also available in alternate designs like high-tech black or metallic ceramic combined with carbon. According to the manufacturer, the mobile phones can be found at all Gresso official dealers and are priced at $2100 (€1475).
