Green Audi R8, MTM Style

Now surely this is something you don't see everyday: a green Audi R8 monster, packing a whopping 560 horsepower, designed and painted by Motoren Technik Mayer (MTM). The choice of color aside (named by the manufacturer “Porsche 2D8″), as it may displease rather than enchant, the Hulk-like R8 is definitely one of a kind.

Using the home made compressor technology, MTM took the factory 4.2l V8 and its 420 horsepower and squeezed it until they got 560 horsepower out of it. The maximum torque was increased by 34 percent, now standing at 580 Nm. The package is also available for the V10 R8, whose power was also increased from 520 horsepower to 560.

And since no engine is good enough without a sound to match its performances, the R8 MTM uses new exhaust system with valve control which leads into four black ceramic-coated end pipes.

To increase the vehicle's aerodynamics, MTM designed a package which includes a new splitter made of carbon fiber (painted green on the top and matte black on the bottom) and new side skirts and rear diffuser, also made in green varnished carbon fiber.

The body kit has lowered the car to an uncomfortable level, making it the ideal candidate to hitting road bumps. To avoid wrecking the kit, MTM has fitted the R8 with a Lift-up-System, which elevates the front or rear axle by 40 mm. The R8 rides on MTM's Bimoto light alloy wheels, measuring 9x20 and 11x20 inches, painted in glossy black.

At the interior, the green mean machine boasts the same colors on the suede MTM steering wheel, while the Quattro nameplate stands on the glove department flap. As was to be expected, the “R8″ logo proudly stands on the gear-shift, painted in the omni-present green.
