Yes, the title is true, but not in the way you might expect. After copying the BMW X1, in the form of a compact SUV called V5, Chinese automaker Zonghua has struck again, this time, though, with an excellent piece of design.
While it may not be in the least bit original, the new unnamed SUV draws very heavy inspiration from the stylish Alfa Romeo Giulietta and transposes the styling cues onto a slightly raised platform. Honestly, we think it looks very good and it would look even better in red.

While Alfa Romeo’s SUV is still in development, the Chinese have beat them to it. Looking at the car, we must say that we particularly like the wrap-around rear lights which have a nice shape, as well as the triangular exhausts which fit much better into the overall design than those on the Honda Civic, for instance.

The 'hidden' rear door handles, as well as all the creases and shapes around the body are very well done and would have honestly fooled us into thinking this is an actual Alfa Romeo, had someone tried to fool the world - but it isn't. Even the rims are Alfa-esque in their design!

This is, we think, the best looking car ever copied in China up to the present moment. It just goes to show that if you copy other brands' designs, over time, copying skills improve and one ends up with cars such as this one - will they surpass us at some point in the not too distant future?
