As some of you probably know by now, Gran Turismo Sport will be launched on the PlayStation 4 platform on November 15, 2016.

The launch comes three years after the launch of the ongoing generation system of the PlayStation series. If you look at the dates, the game comes exactly three years after the North American market launch of the PS4 console.

The new title in the series is built from the ground up, and its developers have received support from the FIA (Federation International Automobile) to host sanctioned online competitions. Players will be able to race in multiple classes, including prototype, rally, GT3, and much more.

Customers who pre-order the game will have early access to a three-car package, which includes the Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Group 3, Ford Mustang Group B Rally Car, and the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1.

Depending on the retail outlet chosen by the customer, benefits for pre-ordering range from $500,000 in-game credit, GT Themed Avatars, bonus cars, and a dynamic theme. There is also a Limited Edition of the game, priced at $69.999. It comes with exclusive content, a steel book and packaging.

If you are wondering why we are writing about this console instead of regular car news, we must inform you that Sony has sold 35.9 million PlayStation units as of January 3, 2016. Currently, the most popular racing game on the PlayStation 4 platform is Driveclub, developed by Evolution Studios. The game was originally launched on March 8, 2014, and has sold over two million copies.

As of January 2015, a total of 18.5 million PlayStation 4 games were sold. For comparison, the Gran Turismo 5 game sold 11.94 million copies on the PlayStation 3 platform, and that was not even the only version of Gran Turismo sold on the PS3.
